Arachnid
I constructed an animated creature that walks using 3D modeling software. The journey begins with an overview of the project and then dives into crafting the creature's leg. Post-modeling, I establish an Inverse Kinematics (IK) rig to aid in animating the leg. Subsequently, I shape the creature's body. Once the body is ready, I sketch a motion path for the model to adhere to. With the path set, I animate the leg's movement along it. For added realism, I fabricate and animate extra legs. Next, I configure a direction controller to guide the creature's trajectory and infuse random movements for a touch of authenticity. With all the components in place, I let my creature take a stroll across the screen. The final act is a thorough rig test to ensure seamless functionality. This project imparts a comprehensive understanding of 3D modeling and animation, culminating in a fully animated walking creature.
